SCUMMY MUMMIES

Ellie Gibson and Helen Thorn specialise in producing and performing comedy for less-than-perfect parents – so that’s all parents. Together they host one of the UK’s most popular parenting podcasts. Launched in July 2013, it was an instant hit, and has since been downloaded over 3 million times in more than 150 countries.  The podcast has been recommended by The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, and featured on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. In 2017, Scummy Mummies was nominated for the UK’s Best Comedy Podcast at the British Podcast Awards, along with Mixcloud and Lovies awards. The Scummy Mummies Podcast was featured in The Guardian’s “50 Best Podcasts of 2016. Both extremely funny comedians in their own right, the Scummy Mummies live is phenomenally popular, and they’ve performed their riotous, warts and all show to sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe and across the UK. After their sell out show at last year’s festival, they’re back with a brand-new show.

DAISY EARL

Daisy is one of the fastest rising stars in comedy today. Since starting stand-up in 2013, she has quickly attracted plaudits and accolades; winning ‘Best New Comedian’ at the Scottish Variety Awards in 2015, and then being crowned ‘Scottish Comedian of the Year’ in the same year, making her the first ever female winner. Following a sell-out show at the Adelaide Fringe in 2016, Daisy returned to the UK to scoop ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Chortle Live Comedy Awards before performing two further sell-outs runs at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 and 2017. Half Scottish, Daisy has performed regularly at the prestigious Stand venues in Scotland and was invited to perform at the ‘Scottish Comedian of the Year’ Winner’s Show during the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016.
